F01223 Cardiovascular Disease Trial
Are you suffering from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or perhaps are at an increased risk for cardiovascular disease? Fusion Clinical Research are looking for patients with these factors to participate in a new clinical trial!
In particular this trial is for people who have elevated levels of lipoprotein (a), which has been associated with increased risks of cardiovascular events. You will be tested for your levels of lipoprotein (a) with a blood test to determine your suitability at a preliminary screening visit.
The study will run for approximately 3-5 years, comprised of:
- Preliminary Screening Visit
- Visit 1 – full screening
- Day 1 (dosing day) – Visit 2
- Site clinic visits every 13 weeks for the remainder of the study. This includes dosing every 6 months.
There will be no overnight stays for this study.

Eligibility requirements
- Age: 18+
- Sex: M & F
- Medication: If taking lipid-lowering medications, then these should be stable.
- Medical History: Individuals 18 years of age or older with established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, with an event (including coronary artery disease, cerebrovascular disease, or peripheral arterial disease involving a lower limb) or revascularization ≥ 90 days prior. OR Individuals 55 years of age or older who are at risk for a first cardiovascular event of coronary artery disease / peripheral arterial disease, or known familial hypercholesterolemia, or alternatively have 3 or more of the following risk factors; diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, current tobacco use, hyperlipidemia, or are 70 years of age or older (females), or 65 years of age or older (males).
Overnight Stays
- Nil
Outpatient Visits
- Approximately 1 visit every 3 months for about 3-5 years
Payment/Remuneration
- $60 per visit if pass screening and when enrolled on the study (not for the screening visit)
